This is the dream school for the strong willed and independent. Everyone knows NYU as a great college, but it is entirely opposite of the traditional college atmosphere. Say no to college athletics and wave goodbye to the Greek system. They can boast about fabulous lectures but students are mainly on their own to find things to do. Thankfully in one of the hottest parts of New York City there are more than a million exciting options within walking distance. Just keep track of your cash flow because money goes quickly here.

New York University is one of the elite universities in the United State. Kids dream of graduating from this prestigious school and parents couldn't be any prouder then when their son or daughter receives the acceptance letter. However, more and more students are questioning whether they can afford to attend this nationally ranked university with the current economic crisis. Not only are kids questioning whether they can accept their acceptance to NYU, students currently enrolled at the school are finding themselves with the tough decision of having to leave the school because of the high tuition prices. "It is very disheartening that after years of hard work, everything you earned could be taken away from you," said Carlos Nicasio, a junior in the College of Nursing at NYU. "You still have to take into account the price that comes with a good education." Freshman Patrick Barragan had to take a leave of absence last spring because he and his family could not afford the costs associated with attending the school. He was convinced by his entire family that it would be best for him to come home and attend a community school. The tough economy is now forcing this country's top scholars and forcing them to attend a school that is below their academic standards. Many students are coming to the school's advising center to figure out a financial plan that will allow them to stay enrolled at the school. A lot of kids are now commuting because the additional cost of housing is too much. If the economy doesn't start to shape up soon NYU as well as many other prestigious schools with high tuition costs will start to see a severe decline in enrollment numbers.

Despite the lacking campus, being right in the heart of New York City's best nightlife is second to nothing.

There's no better place than NYC. I couldn't ask for a place with more to do whether its clubs and bars at night, shopping in the day, or seeing all of the sights around the city.

The city is extremely expensive. It's definitely more expensive to live in NYC

The dorms are really nice. I stayed there in the summer and some of the dorm rooms have kitchens in them and multiple rooms.

True to its southern roots, NC State's strong agricultural studies program and very conservative code of ethics permeate the populous here. Engineering and Social Work are also some of the schools strong suites, especially with a lacking liberal arts program. Though the all brick campus itself isn't known for its beauty, the trek between classes is made easy with the popular Wolfline bus system. Most graduate in six years, which gives them time to explore the hundreds of extracurriculars that appeal to any taste.

Although you can spend time on campus no one does because you're located in the heart of Boston, not only a great college town but voted one of the best places to live in America. Here you get an active education. At Northeastern students learn and simultaneously test themselves in the real workplace, which is a huge bonus for any career bound graduate. Though it isn't huge you can easily be missed by faculty so be prepared to take charge and demand help when you need it.

The ultimate urban campus - Northeastern's grassy quads and tree-lined walkways - is set in the heart of a vibrant city. Our campus offers countless opportunities to make lifelong friends and discover new perspectives. You'll never get bored here. There is always something to do, something for everyone. Northeastern is a great place to call home. Residence and dining halls. State-of-the-art facilities. Diversity, entertainment, student organizations, and the wealth of resources Boston has to offer.

Arizona offers a unique beauty to this campus that some students suggest changes how they learn. Along with fabulous weather and a laid-back, sunny style, school spirit is very prevalent. Although a rather large school, the faculty and staff are dedicated to each student's success and the university "carefully balances teaching, scholarship and service." From the first day of classes here to the last basketball game, it's easy to see why students rave about this school and why they love being Lumberjacks.

It's really interesting to see someone studying abroad in Arizona from Australia rather than the other way around

This is a big school and that means big educational opportunities for its student body. With its 75 graduate programs, including 10 Ph.D. programs, doctoral degrees in education and the Juris Doctorate there is no shortage of options here. They love sports here as their athletic programs are on the rise. They recently added the Jeffrey & Kimberly Yordon Center, a new facility that will enhance the on-field and classroom performance of student-athletes. A move that no doubt expresses their commitment to education.

Step up your game on all levels and then you will stay afloat. It's not uncommon for students to get their first B here and working arduously on academics is pretty standard. With one of the top journalism programs in the country, along with several internship opportunities, this school has many outlets for their students' potentials. However, it's not all about work because with a thriving Greek system, competing in the Big 10, and everything Chicago, students get an equally meaningful social experience.
