Being accepted here means "welcome to the community." You will not fall through the cracks at this school which such a strong support system and dedicated faculty around. The natural beauty of the campus is nestled within the small college town of Clemson, which the school actively works to serve and impact. The goal is to become people of action that can literally start changing the world. They specialize in the sciences and engineering and football is not just a passion here--it's a lifestyle. Go Tigers!

The first place trophy at the 2009 Carolinas Conference was claimed by Clemson University's American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter. Clemson's teams placed first in a number of competitions at this regional conference ensuring a spot in two upcoming national competitions in Vegas(Steel Bridge) and Alabama (Concrete Canoe).
The regional event included teams from NC State, Georgia Tech, NC Agricultural and Technical State University, USC, Trident Tech, UNC , and Duke. It was held at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

An easy off-campus and GO TO destination is the Waffle House on Hwy 123 in Clemson. I am citing this particular Waffle House although there are 3 others within a 20 minute radius of campus. While the Waffle House is a familiar and ubiquitous tradition of the South...it is by no means a "cookie cutter" operation.
You find heart and soul at the 24 hr. Waffle House in Clemson.
The hearty greeting when you walk through the door-
The "more coffee sweetie?" from one of the awesome ladies' who treat the place like its their home
Jammied high school and/or college kids sauntering in throughout the wee hours- not wanting the night to end
Getting served the 45o some millionth waffle, since the chain opened over 50 years ago
Encountering a tableful of Clemson athletes the morning after that BIG win
or encountering a lone Clemson athlete the morning after a crushing defeat.
Meeting people from places far flung from Clemson....united by children who attend the University.
Its a little corny, a lot old school ...full of warmth and tradition...and the food is pretty good too!

Restaurants in downtown Clemson have it made as far as entertainment goes. There seems to be a plethora of talented students from the local high school as well as the University. These students are looking for some exposure and the opportunity to try out their talent in a public venue. The restaurants/coffee houses seem to be looking for free entertainment...thus the twain shall meet....
Would it be asking too much for the venues to offer even a minimum stipend for these musicians? How about coupons towards a free meal?
You never know if you have the next John Mayer in your establishment. Treat these kids with respect please.

It must be a southern thing or at least in South Carolina. But cars are decorated in an owner's interests and now a days, in regards to mostly girls, their initials. All throughout Clemson you can tell who's a Architect major and who is a Rally Cat and now girls are even putting monograms on their cars. Not only do the students get into this personalized markings but all around the community you will see orange/white paws on cars or cars with "Clemson Dad" stickers. It shows great pride and I really believe if you're putting a sticker like that on your car, no matter how much thought you really put into it, you are really making a statement. Think about how many times you drive during a day and even that how many places you go. My favorite is going to different states across the country and seeing a Clemson paw on the bottom rear of a SUV or when Clemson fans travel to sport venues and you feel like there is a whole pack of you on the highway as everyone seems to have distinguished their car with some kind of orange stamp. No matter if it shows you Clemson pride, major, name, its a fun way to set a part your black/gray/green SUV with everyone else's black/gray/green SUV.
