SUNY at Binghamton COMMENTS

D1 athletics has improved school spirit here, but overall the social scene is pretty sedate. The town itself doesn't have many options but there are several on campus clubs and organizations- students just need to seek them out. As any big school, there are a lot of options but some are hit or miss. Bio, nursing, psych, engineering, and poly sci departments are distinguished in the Northeast because of their many strengths; however, some other programs are simply mediocre. There is treasure to be found, and overall students really appreciate the affordability.
The Prudent Student (October 8, 2009)
The Mad Trivia Party airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. on Binghamton University's radio station WHRW 90.5FM, and can be picked up around the globe on streaming audio at the station's website, www.whrwfm.org. The irreverent mix of improv comedy and trivia contest premiered 30 years ago and is still going strong - in fact it's one of the longest running audience participation radio programs in the country. On Friday, March 27th at 8:30 p.m., WHRW will pre-empt regular Friday evening programming to present a special three hour edition of The Mad Trivia Party appropriately dubbed The Mad Anniversary Party. Current host Charles "Chris Played by Charles Berman" Berman and the MTP crew will be joined by the show's creator and original host, Mitch Berkey, who conceived and launched the program in January 1979 in his final semester at Binghamton University as a parting gift to WHRW listeners and the school. The venerable program has evolved over three decades and is still going strong as a college radio institution.

This school is really great. It's real cheap for in-state students and there's bars and parties all the time
