Washington University in St. Louis COMMENTS

With an undergraduate program rank tied with Cornell and admissions selectivity ranked with Columbia, according to US News, you know you'll be getting a top-notch education. For those who have a flair for politics but don't want to head over to Washington D.C.: note that Washington University has been selected to host a presidential or vice presidential debate every election since 1992, including for the upcoming 2008 election.
The Prudent Student (October 7, 2009)
Contrary to popular belief, the social life at Wash. U. is fantastic, and there is always something to do. The main nights to go out are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. (Wednesdays used to be popular at the Sammy house, but they have recently been kicked out of their house for drug related reasons). As a freshman, Tuesday nights are spent at the ZBT house, a weekly event known as ZBTuesdays. For the upperclassmen, and obviously the underclassmen with fake IDs, Tuesdays are spent at a local bar called Duffy's. As long as you get there early, there is no reason to worry about having a good ID. Thursdays have become a very popular night among students. One of the most popular spots in St. Louis is Morgan Street/ Laclede's Landing. Unfortunately, this area has been cracking down on fake IDs, so only really go if you are confident in your ID. Thursday night is another popular night at Duffy's, because it is trivia night (always a blast). This leaves us with Friday and Saturday, two nights when anything can happen. Dorm parties, frat parties, and off campus parties are all popular, and students will often spend the nights party hopping, going from one place to the other. Wash. U. students like to drink and have a good time. What's impressive, though, is that we are able to go out and party hard, but also work hard when need be.
