RIT is well-known not only for its information technology and engineering programs, but its art and photography programs are also strong. RIT also houses the National
Technical Institute for the Deaf, in which over 1,100 deaf students are enrolled, which adds to a unique and dynamic atmosphere. The Co-op Program here is also one of the oldest in the country. Random fact: the campus is comprised largely of wetland areas that are home to some rather rare plant species.
