University of California - Santa Barbara COMMENTS
CCTV
Yes, parties galore with all the usual accessories. Any college on the beaches of SoCal really couldn't help themselves. Though it's easy to cut for the beach with such large classes, most students do take their education seriously; having distinguished faculty members with nationally recognized reputations and achievements does help keep students engaged. The typical student maintains a typical Cali-stress-free lifestyle but living up the college years at UCSB also means living it up academically.
The Prudent Student (October 7, 2009)
I recently visited the campus of The Univeristy of California at Santa Barbara and let me tell you, it was undoubtedly the most serene campus I've ever been to. It has somewhat of a majestic aura to it that allows prospective on-lookers to peer into the greatness not only of the surrounding setting of the campus, but also the academic rigor that the school strives to look for in all its applicants. I thought the the students at UCSB were all very friendly and welcoming, while also having a laid back attitude among rigorous course work. I also ennjoyed my visit because the scenery is quite frankly breathtaking, with the ocean only minutes away, USCB's location was a key selling point for me. As a prospective high school junior, and soon to be senior, I feel that this visit was very beneficial because it allowed me to see a school that has incredible scenery and a laid back attitude in southern California, whilst having an acamedic course scheulde that was rigorous as well. I would recommend that if you are interesting in attending a California school that is somewhat selective that you take in to account UCSB. It is a wonderful school with many great people there who are looking to better themselves and challange themselves while still spending time at the beach or around town at local eateries and bars. The city of Santa Barbara has amazing weather, good looking women, and a buslting downtown area that welcomes all visitors.
